veranon

Anonymous survey platform using Semaphore protocol for cryptographically verifiable anonymity. Enables organizations to collect honest feedback while mathematically guaranteeing respondent privacy.

zero-knowledge semaphore privacy

Overview

veranon is an anonymous survey platform that leverages zero-knowledge proofs to provide cryptographically verifiable anonymity for survey respondents. Built on the Semaphore protocol, it enables organizations to collect honest, unbiased feedback while mathematically guaranteeing that individual responses cannot be traced back to specific users.

The Problem

Traditional anonymous surveys aren’t truly anonymous—administrators can often correlate responses with users through timing analysis, metadata, or other means. This leads to:

  • Respondents self-censoring out of fear of identification
  • Biased results that don’t reflect true opinions
  • Lack of trust in organizational feedback systems

Our Solution

veranon uses zero-knowledge proofs to create surveys where:

  • Membership is verifiable: Only authorized group members can respond
  • Identity is hidden: No one—not even the system administrators—can determine who submitted a particular response
  • Responses are cryptographically unique: Each member can only submit one response per survey

Key Features

  • Zero-knowledge proof generation in the browser
  • Organization management with role-based access
  • Analytics dashboard
